Tea tree is an evergreen tree and has nothing in common with the tea bush (Camellia sinensis), but is a myrtle plant, which is native to Australia. Among the more than 300 Melaleuca varieties, only Melaleuca alternifolia produces the unique tea tree or tea tree oil.
In the case of the ingredients, the content of cineole and terpinene-4-ol is above all checked and evaluated. Generally, with a cineole content of less than 5% and a terpinene-4-ol content of at least 30%, there is a quality that combines skin friendliness with optimal efficacy.
