The fresh, cool and radiantly scented essential oil of real peppermint belongs in every home and first-aid kit and is a classic in aromatherapy. It clears your head and cools you down. Used at the first signs of tension headaches, it can be prevented. It helps you concentrate, wakes you up and invigorates your body and mind. In the case of jet lag and tiredness, or (travel) nausea, sniffing peppermint can provide relief. For stomach pressure and digestive problems, pads or rubs with peppermint oil are also useful.
Peppermint oil has also proven itself for colds, as it helps you breathe deeply. Applied selectively, the cooling effect helps with itching, e.g. from insect bites. Cooling peppermint oil is often used in refreshing, invigorating body oils and gives summer footbaths and body scrubs a certain tingling effect.
Peppermint is only partially suitable as a bath additive for full-body baths, as it can create a feeling of cold even in the smallest dose.
