Doppelherz active for diarrhea is a liquid medical device in a stick for the treatment of acute and chronic diarrhea as well as accompanying gastrointestinal complaints.

mechanism of action:
Diosmectite is natural clay that has a structure of slightly overlapping crystalline lamellae, allowing for high absorbency and thus the ability to absorb fluids present in the gut (in addition to bacterial toxins and viruses, if present), increasing stool consistency and slowing elimination. The absorption capacity of diosmectite allows Doppelherz to actively interact with diarrhea with the glycoproteins in the mucosa lining the gastro-duodenal wall, thus altering their physical properties to form a protective gel against acid hypersecretion and gastro-damaging substances to create a barrier effect against generate inflammatory mechanisms.
