The Doppelherz active melatonin + magnesium 400 tablets  contain a combination of 1 mg melatonin, 400 mg magnesium, the well-known plant substance lemon balm extract and vitamin B6.
Melatonin is a naturally occurring hormone produced by the pineal gland in the midbrain. The natural production of melatonin begins after dark and peaks between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m. In the second half of the night it falls again. Melatonin helps reduce the time it takes to fall asleep. In order for the positive effect to set in, 1 mg of melatonin should be taken shortly before going to bed.
Magnesium is an essential mineral that the body cannot produce itself. Among other things, it supports normal muscle function.
Vitamin B6 supports the normal function of the nervous system and contributes to normal mental function and the regulation of hormone activity.
Melissa (Melissa officinalis) has its original home in the eastern Mediterranean. Today it is also widespread throughout Europe. It is also known as lemon balm because of its characteristic fresh and lemony smell.
